Background / History
 
John Eklund started Judo at Wollongong Police Boys Club in 1969.

In 1972 he gained silver the Australian Championships, and was selected to represent Australia in a Judo Tour of New Zealand.

John is an experienced competitor who has participated in over 70 tournments in his competition career.

John was very active in University Judo during the course of his studies to be a teacher. After a long break John returned to Judo after a number years to practice with his two sons.
 
At Zenbu we are now fortunate not only to have John as an instructor but as current  referee to the game he brings a needed resource to the club.

He has coached at Gladesville RSL before Zenbu. His aim is to keep fit and pass on the spirit of Judo to young players.
