Background & History
In 1995 Morgan took a Bronze medal at the National Titles with his 1st International Competition being Oceania in 1998 where he took Bronze at 81kg and Silver in the Open Weight.
The 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney saw Morgan as a reserve missing out at the 2000 Oceania competition on a split decision.
A gold medal at the 2001 National titles was enough to take on the international scene competing at the Pacific Rim Championships, British Open, Kano Cup (World Level) and then qualifying for the Commonwealth Games in Manchester 2002 where he placed in the top four.
The highlight of Morgan's competitive career was Selection for the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. This was a culmination of winning the Oceania championships in 2004 and 10 years of a gruelling training regime domestically and in countries such a Japan, Korea, England and Germany.
Instructing
Morgan has throughout the years has been invited to instruct at various seminars and camps around Australia and more recently along with senior black belt instructors of NSW has set up the BBR Judo Academy. The BBR Judo academy is a volunteer organisation which purpose is technical instruction to all NSW Judo members.
In July 2005 Morgan founded and is the head instructor at Zenbu Judo club.
Sporting Achievements:
In 1993 Morgan lived in Japan for 1 year training in Judo at Waseda University and studying Japanese. There he developed an excellent technical understanding of Judo and was promoted to 1st Dan Black Belt. From then the challenge was of a competitive nature.
During Morgan's competitive career he has managed to contribute greatly to the instruction of Judo originally through Budokan Judo club where he and his father Ivor Endicott-Davies founded the exisiting dojo in Castle Hill.
